Our complaints
We feel that this company overcharged us, and underperformed on
their contract. They overcharged us for professional services, for
the goods that they sold to us, and spent far more of our budget
than expected. The job was not completed; we ran out of money.
A Design in Time told us that it does not fund its design consulting
services the same way that many (most?) of the industry does: from
a percentage of the markup of the items selected
During the initial sales call, Ms. Janet Haley told us that she
charged up-front for her professional services, and then passed
significant savings on the decorating items selected. For this,
she charged a flat fee of about one thousand dollars.
We found, that contrary to the contract, she charged us prices
that had significant margin for her. We see this as double charging,
once for the professional services, and a second time in the markup.
As much as we dislike being overcharged, we also dislike Ms. Haley's
refusal to communicate or work to resolve this disagreement. She
will not return phone calls, and has not replied to repeated letters
asking for resolution. We know that she received them, as we sent
them with delivery confirmation, and we have the delivery receipt..
