Genealogy of my kin

Pat Farrell and GMU's SITE

I attended GMU's School of Information Technology and Engineering (SITE) from January 1991 until the summer of 1996. In March, 1993, I was awarded a MS in Computer Science. My goal was always to obtain a PhD, and after I received my MS, I started taking PhD level courses.

But a PhD was not in the cards for me, my heart was not in it. So I jointed an Internet startup (CyberCash) in 1996, and tried to change the world.

Current work as Adjunct Faculty

I am currently an adjunct faculty member of the GMU Applied Information Technology department.

In any dealing with a bureaucracy, and all universities have a fair amount of bureaucracy, one has to fill in forms, sign assorted applications, show proof of whatever is required (in this case both a Virginia driver's license and a state-issued birth certificate), get a transcript, etc.

Since I received a GPS tracker from Santa this year, I used it to record my location as I completed the first few steps of becoming an adjunct faculty member. Here is the track. GPS log of my afternoon signing up as a faculty member

Current course: IT108 Programming Fundamentals

I will be teaching IT108, Programming Fundamentals on Monday and Wedensday mornings at 9:00 AM, in the Spring 2011 term.
