| The famous writer Edgar Allan Poe was born January 19, 1809, was Irish,and had no children. Olive Glendora Poe always swore we were related to him (though that could be wishful thinking), but we are German Poes. Now the writer E. A. Poe said he was only Irish for a few generations and German before that, so we are may after all not related to him, but that would be buriedback in time in Europe centuries ago with a branch of our German Poe's moving to Ireland and changing their name to Poe also . | ||||||||
