Farrell genealogy and Family History information.

This family tree is based on the Farrell family of Omaha Nebraska from about 1900 through 1960.

Most of my genealogy information is displayed in pages generated by Sierra's Easy Tree. It is not a great program, but it is what I've got. One of these days I'll learn how to use a better package.

My first cousin Daniel J. Farrell owned a Porsche in the late '50s or early '60s, which was really cool as far as I was concerned. His wife is still living, so I've withheld his data.
There are more, living Daniel Farrells in the family. My cousin has a son DJF, as does my brother, and my nephew has a son Daniel. I expect that there are more that I don't know if yet.

Interests

I am much more interested in family history than in the bloodlines that preoccupy many genealogists. Maybe I'm not really a genealogist.

Historical fact and rumor about Daniel J. Farrell

According to family lore, Daniel Joseph Farrell (b 1825) entered the USA through New Orleans, Louisiana and migrated northward along the Mississippi River.

By the late 1850s, they were in Brooklyn Iowa, a small town roughly midway between Des Moines and Iowa City. Daniel Joseph Farrell (b 1860) was born in Brooklyn, Iowa.

Fact and rumor about my dad, Andrew H. Farrell

Sometimes, it helps to start close to home. My dad was named either Harry Andrew Farrell, or Andrew Harry Farrell. There is a story behind this confusion. See Why Hank is Junior.
